“High noon, oh I’d sell my soul for water”
Just came back from a steady afternoon run in the Foret de Soignes. The sun is out, baby buggies and senior citizens also apparently. I could not imagine to train without music and if this band doesn’t make you run faster, please e-mail me.
Playlist for this afternoon:
- Dissection – Storm of the light’s bane
- Taake – Doedskvad
- Taake – Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmeri
- Kvelertak – Kvelertak
It has been a week again since I got out there. I was still recovering from the below.
Sunday morning, 1 week ago. The rain is pooring down. Had a 6 hour sleep, got out of bed and put my new Rainbow LP on. Ronnie James Dio makes the early morning calls bearable. We had the crazy idea to drive to Houffalize for a trail run training. On the mountainbike trails. You see where this is going.
We decided to do 2 different trails, a grade II 18k warm-up followed by a 22k grade IV run till you die trail. My hours of sleep were slightly reduced to half the last few weeks, so this was going to be a hard nut to crack again. But whatever. Remember kids, sleep is for the weak. I am always surprised how beautiful the southern part of Belgium is. The little waterfalls, paths and dense forests. I just could never live over there. But separation, no thanks.
The first part was going well, but I couldn’t get rid of my heavy legs during the whole run. I just tried to enjoy the scenery, which was absolutely stunning. I had a few difficult moments, but Succès du jour to the rescue. We ran a total of 5 hours, with a small break around 4 hours and +2200 vertical meters. We didn’t see any mountainbikers. We saw few people. It was only us, nature and that damn gravity.

BLACK METAL + WOODS = LIKE.
