.oaken halls of sorrow

“Nature is the great Equalizer”

I can not wait for the climbing season to start and get on the rocks again, but in the meanwhile I continue to practise on the treadmill of climbing: the indoor wall. Unlike most of my running buddies, I do enjoy artificial running. And so I do enjoy artificial climbing. Nothing compared with leading a route on a rock, but excellent to build up technique and stamina. By training almost twice a week, I am progressing quickly. Currently climbing 6B+ routes and I feel I can take it to the next level in the following weeks.

In the meanwhile, I realise it is just over 14 weeks now before I leave for Alaska, and there is still a lot of work to do. Luckily, all the administrative hassle has been taken care off: visa, insurance, climbing permit,… along with the other 500 documents to complete before you can even enter Denali National Park. Still looking for the perfect -40°C sleeping bag though. And of course training hard. Harder. Hardest.

Keep the faith.
